Archival Restoration
Sam Frank (1920-2007), born in Shanghai, immigrated to Israel in 1948, settling in Tel-Aviv and working as a photographer. The photographs in the archive, many of which were taken during the 1950s, follow the first decades of the State of Israel and encompass most aspects of life in the newly established State.
By acting as an archivist for a photographer in her native home of Israel, Kadosh has connected to a version of the Israeli people and critical moments in its history. This rich exploration of her homeland viewed through the eyes of Sam Frank and later brought to life by Kadosh has shaped her artwork in innumerable ways.
